What’s a Rich Text element?

"

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
Major Retailer eliminates VPN, embraces agentless ZTNA, and recoups almost $1M in lost productivity
Outdoor Recreation Retailer

VPN couldn’t support this Outdoor Recreation retailer’s BYOD-powered workforce, leading them to explore the possibilities of a Security Service Edge (SSE) platform, starting with a Modern-Day ZTNA solution.

Challenge
  • The Outdoor Recreation Retailer wanted to reduce its dependence on hardware-based solutions, but heavily relied on VPN and VDI technologies.
  • The retailer struggled to support a BYOD model with existing solutions, forcing them to instead ship out laptops to customer support representatives.
  • Shipping out and provisioning laptops to Customer Support Representatives would take up to 3 weeks. 50% of these laptops would never be returned to the retailer resulting in a loss.
  • With WFH employees, the Outdoor Recreation Retailer lacked visibility into both user activity and access experience, resulting in various security gaps and the team being bogged down with support tickets.

Solution
  • Atmos minimizes infrastructure costs by eliminating the retailer’s need for VPN and VDI technologies completely. Atmos helps the business modernize secure access with a cloud-delivered SSE service, allowing them to automatically scale capacity based on their changing business needs; all without requiring any additional hardware, cost, or resources.
  • Atmos enables the Outdoor Recreation Retailer to support a robust BYOD access model. This optimizes their onboarding process, eliminating the need to ship laptops to individuals, and creates huge time-to-value benefits - saving $875k in the process
  • Atmos' broad support of secure access allows the retailer to broaden their hiring pool to users who are not physically near call centers. As a result, better quality employees can be hired and employee turnover decreases.
  • The Outdoor Recreation Retailer has visibility into all user traffic, enabling IT to better track and optimize data security and end-user experience. Better access means less support tickets for the team.

On the hunt for better secure access to private apps

From selling fish tackle out of a local Liquor stores in the 70's to now having over 40,000 employees across the United States, this leading Outdoor Recreation Retailer is the trusted source for all quality fishing, hunting, boating and outdoor sporting goods. Boasting over 160 mega store locations across the US and Canada, this retailer was feeling some of the growing pains, specifically when it came to securing application access for its employees.

Like many companies, the retailer was leveraging a combination of VPN and VDI technologies to support private application access for their employees, especially their call center representatives. This combo of legacy technologies hindered the retailers ability to adopt a BYOD model in a secure manner. As a result, IT teams were required to manually mail out laptops to all newly hired call center representatives before their onboarding training. This provisioning would usually take up to 2-3 weeks and once users had their devices, there was no guarantee that they would ever get them back. It was normal for ~50% of new trainees to drop out of onboarding, however, retrieving their brand new laptops rarely seemed to happen. The retailer knew that enabling secure BYOD access would allow them to avoid these situations all together.

For those call center representatives that did stick with the training, they experienced the pain of using the remote access VPN. Not only was access slow because of backhauled traffic, but users would often have trouble accessing apps which required 2-3 full-time IT employees working through contact center help desk tickets and training. Oftentimes the issues these users were facing were the result of slow Internet connections or something happening outside the control of the IT team.

The Outdoor Recreation retailer wanted to enhance their IT teams visibility into not only what the user is accessing, and minimize their access to only authorized resources, but also to gain the insight to pinpoint performance issues that are causing user frustration and eliminate support tickets before they even start. The retailer knew that VPN was not solving their problem and began exploring different secure access solutions. This is when they came across Atmos by Axis, the seamless Security Service Edge (SSE) platform.

A better business powered by Security Service Edge (SSE)

Ultimately, the retailers needed a modern secure access solution that would make life easier for their team (streamline onboarding processes, optimize cost, eliminate hardware challenges) and easier for their employees (seamless onboarding for them, better access leading to better performance). This is where the retailer began exploring Security Service Edge (SSE) as an option, choosing to start by replacing VPN and VDI technology with Atmos’ Modern-Day Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA).

Atmos ZTNA provided the modern yet secure access to private applications the retailer was looking for. Not only did Atmos ZTNA allow the retailer to eliminate VPN and simplify infrastructure (and the costs that go with that), but also enabled secure access from BYOD devices.

Instead of sending out corporate managed devices to employees before they go through training, the Outdoor Recreation retailer can enable secure access from a user's personal device, eliminating the need to ship devices, and taking the on-boarding process from 2-3 weeks to being provisioned in hours. As a result, the retailer immediately saw over $650k in cost savings by improving contact center agent productivity as well as $225k in cost avoidance by no longer needing to ship laptops to end-users.

Additionally, by replacing VPN with Atmos and supporting BYOD, the retailer is able to broaden their employee search parameters beyond those who are physically close to call center locations. The retailer has access to better talent now that hiring can be based on performance not physical proximity. This ultimately means that the retailer is better able to serve their customers, increasing customer satisfaction.

Lastly, the retailer now has full control from a security and operations perspective. IT teams can now implement zero trust access policies from Atmos that are enforced down to the granular application level, all from a centralized location. This centralized management enables enterprise-wide visibility into what an end-user is accessing and insights around their digital experience. With Atmos, the retailer is able to identify and pinpoint performance issues and resolve them before a support ticket is even submitted. Less support tickets means team members are able to spend time on projects that actually matter.

The SSE Journey: VPN replacement and beyond!

The Outdoor Recreation retailer was able to do away with legacy technologies like VPN and modernize private app access for the betterment of their employees and customers. While the retailer started their VPN replacement use case with their Call Center employees, they know that the benefits of Atmos SSE can greatly help other parts of their organization as well, including secure access to SaaS and web apps.
