What’s a Rich Text element?

"

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
Major U.S. Eyewear Retailer increases productivity for 700+ retail stores
Eyewear Retailer

When latency from their traditional access solutions drove productivity for this American eyewear retailer to a complete stop, they saw the need for a modern, Security Service Edge (SSE), approach.

Challenge
  • Securing access for their remote workforce over VPN was a poor experience.
  • Highly-latent experience from 711 retail offices due to network backhauls - impacting productivity.
  • Apps, data, and storage had moved to cloud, but security was still anchored in the data center.
  • Scaling bandwidth with traditional access solutions was outrageously expensive.
  • Fiber connection to the datacenter was randomly cut causing a massive outage lasting over six hours - productivity screeched to a halt for all employees.
Solution
  • Atmos allows the corporate employees to work without latency. Leveraging a cloud-delivered SSE ensures always-on, highly available, access
  • Atmos enables store-based employees working on POS systems to securely connect directly to cloud resources - without having to traverse the corporate network. Productivity spiked as access latency was reduced by 200%
  • Atmos delivers access for employees for half the predicted cost of upgrading and maintaining the existing network-based technology stack

Seeing the pain of latency

With 711 optical retail stores spanning 40 US states, this leading American eyewear retailer runs one of the largest optical chains in the US. While this leading eyewear retailer heavily invested in digital transformation and migrated apps, data, and storage to cloud, ensuring access was secure was still enforced at the data center level. With the traffic of their distributed workforce being backhauled through centralized data centers, the organization suffered as productivity was greatly impacted by high latency.

For WFH corporate employees, they suffered slow connections, data uploads, and even being dropped from video meetings. It got to the point where even Vice Presidents were complaining about the latency issues. In store employees had it bad too. When serving customers, connections were slow, leading to low business productivity and a poor customer experience. The resources that these store employees needed were sitting in the cloud, but user traffic was required to traverse the corporate network before being sent to its intended destination. Solving this latency issue became a top priority.

As the American eyewear retailer explored solving their latency issue the traditional way, they found that upgrading their existing solution would cost over one million in additional investment each year. This simply was not an option, and they knew that there had to be a better solution out there. They began to explore the value of a cloud-delivered Security Service Edge (SSE) solution.

The clear need for an SSE platform

As the American eyewear company weighed their options, looking at traditional solutions or vendors claiming to be a SASE approach, they realized that Frankenstein solutions were not going to cut it. They needed a single, cloud-delivered SSE platform that could support all their access needs.

The American eyewear retailer began evaluating SSE platforms with their primary goal of solving the latency problem. They needed an SSE solution that would retain (or elevate) the same level of secure access, but would be enforced at the edge, eliminating the need to backhaul traffic through the data center. Ultimately, they needed a solution that would allow them to yield the full benefits from their cloud migration efforts.

The organization also needed an SSE solution that could support both managed and unmanaged devices. Seeing that the retailer couldn’t guarantee that employees would always use company issued devices meant that agentless and BYOD support was an important factor in evaluating an SSE platform.

The last factor was of course, cost. The American eyewear retailer needed a solution that not only would save them money now, but optimize spend moving forward. They needed a future-proof SSE solution that would fit their budgeting needs now and down the road. This is where the retailer discovered Atmos by Axis.

20/20 vision with Atmos by Axis

In the end, it all came down to value for the American eyewear retailer. The organization had heard of Axis, but what was the value in dollars? Axis was able to run a value report for the organization and show how, compared to their current vendor, Axis’ potential saving was over $4M for the business over 3 years, with an ROI of 115%.

This intrigued the customer and we got to work on the proof of value. The first issue that the retailer wanted to address was latency. With over 350 global cloud edge locations, Atmos allows connectivity to be established as close to the user as possible using a proprietary smart-routing technique. This means that the WFH, and store employees would all receive fast access regardless of geography across their 40 operating states. The retailer quickly found that Atmos eliminated latency issues for their WFH employees, allowing fast access to apps, quickly uploading data, and allowing video meetings without interruption.

For in-store employees, users could securely connect directly to necessary cloud resources without being backhauled through the data center. This reduction in latency gave the business confidence that their connectivity was reliable and secure. Atmos even helped with BYOD devices that workers might use. While Axis supports all ports and protocols with an agent, Atmos robust agentless capability supports a wide range of applications (Web, RDP, SSH, Git, SQL, VNC, and DG) without requiring an agent, allowing invisible security for the end-user while still satisfying security requirements for IT.

Atmos also allowed admins to completely control their environment without ever going onsite to a data center. In one situation the Senior Network Engineer “locked” himself out of access to the data center which requires him to physically drive to the data center to remedy, usually a couple hour turn around. With Axis connected, he was still able to access the data center and remedy the problem without leaving his desk.

What really had the American eyeglass retailer sold on Axis was when their fiber connection to the data center was randomly cut. This caused a massive outage, resulting in over 6+ hours where productivity screeched to a stop for both WFH and in-store employees. The amazing thing is that everyone running Axis in the test group was still able to access their resources to do their work.

Focus on the future with Axis

Atmos was able to help the American eyewear company overcome all the user connectivity challenges and obstacles they faced, all within a single cloud-delivered SSE platform. This is just the beginning for the eyewear retailer. In the future they plan to leverage the Atmos Web Gateway to displace existing outbound gateway stack, expand access to non-employee doctors on working on unmanaged device,, and eventually look to leverage Axis Experience to help the CIO, and their network operations team, pinpoint, and remediate, access issues before they become problems.

“ (Axis) came in and provided something that was innovative, solved our challenges, met our needs and gave us options to future proof the business.”
